Area 3 of Special Olympics Virginia offers training in ten different sports during the year. The sports offered and the current or most recent time and location are shown in the following table:

Area 3 attempts to maintain these general schedules from year-to-year; however, the specific times of the practices may change slightly. Therefore, prior to the beginning of each sports session, the Area 3 secretary mails out a letter with the detailed schedule to each registered athlete in Area 3. Additionally, a 1-page flyer with the detailed schedule is prepared and distributed throughout the area, primarily through the special education departments in the school systems included in Area 3.
